2024
This week for its National Press Introduction, the refreshed 2024 Kia Seltos takes to New England’s coastline. Media from around the country will take to the Atlantic Ocean’s shoreline roads, driving through charming beach towns and through Rhode Island’s sweeping backroads.
Designed to appeal to consumers who enjoy life on the move, the 2024 Seltos sports a more commanding presence thanks to sharpened design, inside and out. Inside the cabin, a standard panoramic display1 is the centerpiece of the futuristic and modern cabin. With two lively powertrain options, including a turbocharged, 195-hp engine, as well as the newly available X-Line trim, the Seltos imbues zest into all types of adventuring.
“With year-to-date sales up 25 percent for Seltos, we see no signs of slowing down, especially after the refreshed version goes on sale this Spring,” said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America. “With its head-turning style, elevated tech and performance, the 2024 Seltos is poised to continue being a hit.”
Available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive2 configurations, the 2024 Seltos3 is arriving now at Kia retailers.
Big Presence in a Small Package
The 2024 Seltos was redesigned inside and out with Kia’s “Opposites United” design motif in mind. A larger Tiger Nose grille emphasizes vehicle width and gives the Seltos a stronger appearance, with the front grille bookended by available projection LED headlamps. Available Star Map signature lighting across the front grille creates a distinct, recognizable first impression. Rigid shapes on the front bumper lend the Seltos a more confident and rugged stance, while rear lighting mimics the front signature lighting. The optional Smart Power Tailgate and two new 17-inch wheel designs are available, as well as a signature 18-inch wheel for the Seltos SX.
The Seltos X-Line adds flourishes of style, with an exclusive front grille design, gloss black door garnishes, black bridge-type roof rack4, and unique 18-inch wheels.
For the 2024 model year, the Seltos exudes segment-up levels of interior refinement and feature content. The Seltos offers a standard panoramic screen display that integrates the instrument cluster and center display. A 4.2-inch instrument cluster with digital gauges paired with 8-inch center display is standard, and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster paired with 10.25-inch center display3 is optional. Three new interior colorways are available, including Navy (X-Line), Brown (EX, SX), and SX-exclusive Midnight Green. Available ventilated front seats and sunroof (SX Sunroof Package) create a more comfortable environment.
Powerful for All Adventures
The 2024 Seltos continues to deliver a comfortable, capable and confidence-inspiring driving experience. The Seltos SX now offers a 1.6-liter turbo GDI four-cylinder engine with 195 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque – an increase of 20 horsepower over the outgoing model – paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine offers 146 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque, routed through an Intelligent Variable Transmission (LX, S, X-Line, EX). Normal, Smart, and Sport drive modes each use specific settings for powertrain, drivetrain, suspension, and steering mapping to provide the desired driving experience.
Available active on-demand all-wheel drive (AWD)5 is designed to provide all-weather capabilities and enhanced driving performance in a variety of circumstances, with a center locking differential that can split power equally between the front and rear wheels for more severe environments. Torque vectoring is designed to increase traction by predicting which wheel will best utilize power, enhancing stability in corners, and giving the vehicle more precise handling dynamics in numerous situations.
Driver-Focused Technology
The 2024 Seltos integrates convenience and driver technology features that are designed to make journeys more enjoyable for travelers on the move. The Seltos offers an available Smart Power Liftgate6, which can be set to open automatically when the key fob is detected within close proximity. Three standard USB ports, including a USB-C port, help to keep compatible devices charged.
Kia Connect7 provides enhanced, embedded connectivity in the 2024 Seltos S trim and up. Available Digital Key 2 Touch8 allows customers to use their compatible iPhone9, Apple Watch7, and Samsung Galaxy10 smart devices as virtual vehicle keys to lock, unlock and drive. These keys can be shared with friends and family over text messages11 on compatible devices. Map and infotainment over-the-air (OTA) updates can keep maps and infotainment system updated automatically with the latest functionalities to help deliver the best driving experience.
Kia’s roster of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems12 (ADAS) keeps the 2024 Seltos up to date on some of the latest technology with newly added features:
- Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA) with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection: Is designed to detect oncoming vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists under certain conditions. If the system detects that a collision may be likely, the system may apply the brakes to help prevent a collision or lessen the effects in certain conditions
- Blind Spot Collision Warning (BCW): Is designed to detect vehicles traveling in the next lane in certain circumstances. If the system detects a vehicle in its blind spot, on the system is designed to issue an audible and visual warning when the turn signal is on (standard on the S trim and up).
- Intelligent Speed Limit Assist13 (ISLA) and Intelligent Speed Limit Warning (ISLW): Is designed to detect a road’s maximum speed limit in some cases, provide alerts to the driver, and even limit the speed of the car depending on the settings (standard on the SX trim).
Additional standard ADAS5 features include Driver Attention Warning (DAW)14, High Beam Assist (HBA)15, Lane Following Assist (LFA), Rear View Monitor (RVM), and Rear Occupant Alert (ROA)16. Seltos S and higher trims add Safe Exit Warning (SEW)17 and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), while Seltos SX offers Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning, Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go (SCC)18, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC, Curve), and Highway Driving Assist (HDA)19.
